The granite monument that has been ordered for the Oklee Area Veterans' Memorial will not be placed at the site until perhaps March. In contacting the supplier of the monument we have learned that the sandblasting of the monument cannot be completed until the weather warms up because the size of the granite is too large to be worked on inside their building with the equipment they have. The sandblasting on the monument will be done outside when the weather warms up, and therefore there will be a delay in the delivery of the monument to the site in Oklee. When a delivery date is determined, it will be announced in the paper.
