hoping to be able to set up on the Centennial website for giving out

Bonny said she has been looking for information for the paper for
Market Day and the Chili Cook-Off.
History/Souvenir
Comm.
Emily B. said that she has been checking on pottery with our
Centennial logo on it with the Of the Land potters. Ardis suggested
that this type of item could be sold in advance of the event. It was
also suggested to contact Two Fools Winery to see about putting our
logo on their labels to sell before & during the celebration. Bonny
C. said that the History night went well and that Eric was hoping to
schedule another one soon.
Fundraising
Comm.
Kaye reported that the Dance Card Dance was poorly attended, but
very enjoyable to all who did venture out and attend. Mary Lynn
asked about putting up the Centennial banner for Market Day on the
stage wall. It was agreed that this wouldn’t be a problem. People
agreeing to sitting at the Centennial booth for 9-11 were Lori &
Kaye; from 11-1 Loretta; and from 1-3 was open to volunteers. There
was a discussion about entertainment at the Chili Cook-Off. Bingo
was suggested, but vetoed. A guitar video game contest will be going
on across the street at the new Industrial Tech. building for the
younger generation. Mary Lynn suggested asking Clay Haugen to line
up musical entertainment for the Hall. It was decided having music
in the background was a good addition last year and to go with it
again, if possible. After some discussion, it was decided to serve
hot dogs & bars to go along with the chili. Several of us offered to
call people to bring bars.
Beautification Comm.
Ardis had checked on the cost of hanging plants from Francis Floral
in Bagley and what is necessary for watering, etc. She was told that
they are watered daily and twice a day when the temperature is over
90. Barb had talked to Deb DuChamp about what they had done for
their Yard of the Week prizes. They had made up certificates. It was
agreed that we should begin this project next summer and feature the
Yard winner in the paper.
Parade Comm.
Cheryl O’N. said that their main concern right now is coming up with
a banner or sign to put on a pick-up for parades for the upcoming 2
summers. Cheryl secured the Parade Train to lead the parade & give
rides for our Centennial parade.
Entertainment
Comm.
Isaac reported that their committee hasn’t met since the last board meeting. He has been getting good input from some of their members on bands from the area who could provide good entertainment for the Centennial. There was a discussion as to whether it was necessary to have a big name band in to draw a crowd. It was decided to leave that decision up to the Entertainment Comm. This committee was also designated to be responsible for providing transportation around town the weekend of the event. Lonny Cote is looking into this. It was suggested to check with Shawn Carlson who is a shuttle driver each year at Rollag.
Ardis will schedule our next meeting date for some time in the spring. She encouraged people to stay involved & to get others to help.
Bob M. made a motion to adjourn, Emily seconded, & carried.
