Fundraising Committee
Committee's Purpose
- Organize Fundraisers
- Acquire Sponsorships
-
The fundraising committee met on July 30th to discuss the game
cards, future fundraisers, and our Centennial financial status.
The money received from the sponsorships and “pledged”
sponsorships, game cards, chile feed and the $12, 452 savings
certificate from the Diamond Jubilee, totals $41, 628.
-
The fundraising committee sent out letters in April to local
businesses and to businesses in the surrounding area, townships,
medical facilities, foundations, and local organizations
requesting sponsorship for our Oklee Centennial which will be
held in July 2010. So far we have received a generous amount of
$14,350 from the following businesses: Nelson Construction,
Swenson Seed Farm, Oklee Ambulance, Security State Bank, Oklee
Quilting, Enbridge, Swenson Equipment Co., Garnes Township,
Lambert Township and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
-
Our goal is to raise $60,000 for the 3 day event and we are over
two-third there at this time. We want to leave a balance of
$10,000 when the celebration is over as there was that much
remaining from the 75th Jubilee.
-
We will continue our game cards, which have been very
successful, as we make about $6000 each time we sponsor that
event.
-
Future events that we have planned for this coming year are
Chili Feed, Casino Night, Game Cards, and a Charity Wicks
fundraising Concert.
-
How can you help? Letters will be sent out this fall asking
families to be “star supporters” by donating $50 -$100 toward
the Centennial. More information will be sent out later this
fall.
-
We will continue to update you on our finances and remember to
check on our website
www.okleecentennial.com for more information in the upcoming
year. Andy Dulka, our webmaster, has done a great job keeping
the site updated and check out the new pictures of our city.

The highly
successful calendar game card is back! The game cards have been
sold twice in
the past years to raise money for the Oklee Centennial 2010.
-
As
with the previous games, there will only be 500 cards for sale
and the last time they nearly sold out so don't wait to purchase
yours. Watch for the Oklee Centennial logo at ticket sale sites,
and Oklee Centennial committee members will be selling tickets
as well.
-
Here's how the game works. For $20.00 you may buy a
raffle ticket for a 3 month game card. Your name will be entered
in a drawing and beginning July 1st and continuing through
September 30th, one name will be drawn for each day, Monday
through Friday, for a cash prize. The cash prizes will range in
value from $50.00 up to $100.00 on special days. If your name is
drawn for a $50.00 cash prize it will be placed back in the
drawing for additional cash prizes.
-
Winners will be listed in
the Oklee Herald and here.
-
Remember, only 500 tickets will be sold
so you must act quickly to get your ticket. Tickets go on sale
now through end of June or until they are gone. This fundraiser
supports the Oklee Centennial 2010. Questions may be directed to
Lori Melby at 796-5157.
